Gig Harbor’s own Symphony Orchestra will present their final concert of the year on Friday May 8th at 7pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church. These concerts are free, but you’ll want to make a donation after you hear and see what a remarkably talented orchestra Gig Harbor has in what is essentially a hidden gem.
May 8th marks the 200th anniversary of the death of Franz Josef Haydn, father of the symphony! The program will include ;
· Franz Schubert: Overture in D in the Italian Style
· Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Major – The Turkish
· Franz Josef Haydn: London Symphony No.104 with Croatian theme from “Oj Jelena, Jelena, jabuka zelena”
The concert will feature Concertmaster Joshua Friedlander, violin soloist and Dr. Nikolas Caoile, guest conductor – Director of Orchestras at Central Washington University.
